Do you have a food allergy or intolerance?

Do you have a food allergy or intolerance or do you have a restriction on your everyday diet (like gluten free, vegan, paleo, raw, or vegetarian)? If so... How do you survive on campus? Do you bring your meals from home? Do you buy on campus? Do you starve?
The reason I started this is because I have celiac disease. I can't eat anything that has gluten in it (bread, pasta, etc.) or anything that has been "cross-contaminated" (e.g. french fries cooked in the same oil as onion rings, anything that has come into contact with gluten, etc.). I find it is impossible for me to find food on campus that is healthy, filling, and cost-effective for how I have to eat everyday.
I have an apartment so it's easy for me to cook my own meals, but sometimes I'm stuck on campus and die trying to find a snack that can satisfy hunger. One can only eat so many potato chips and unripe, overpriced fruits and veggies. Sometimes I just starve.
I have been to the Yum Shop and have found my favorite brand of gluten free cookie (Liz Lovely Chocolate Fudge cookies taste like brownie batter, btw) but it is just that... a cookie. There is no sustenance... only empty calories. I've heard that gluten free options are available at True Grits Dining hall, but I don't ever go because I don't have a meal plan. I was curious if I could get input on that from someone else who eats gluten free.
Overall, I'm just curious as to how people with the same or other kinds of food allergies/intolerances or special diets live and eat while on campus.
tl;dr - ALLERGIES. INTOLERANCES. DO YOU HAVE THEM?
