Environmental Fund Fee
How much would you give to support environmental projects?

Hey Everyone,
All of this is subject to change as we speak with staff members and work to refine the plan. However, the goal of this would be to enable environmental action on campus at a much larger scale at a relatively low cost. Over 80 schools through the country already have successful programs in place. Thank you so much for your feedback.
I am currently working on a Prove-It Campaign to start a green fund, which would support environmental projects and purchases on campus. We are looking into including a mandatory semester fee, and are wondering how much students are willing to pay.
The money would be put into a green fund, which would be controlled by a council of staff, SGA sustainability interns, and officers from SEA. Groups on campus, including but not limited to Student Orgs and Facilities, could send in project proposals to get money for projects on campus. For Facilities, it would probably be to increase energy efficiency as described in many places throughout the audit they had done. For Student Orgs, it could be to buy trees for a tree planting, get supplies for a river cleanup, or purchase environmentally conscious products. In many cases, we would cover a percentage or require that the project feeds money back into the fund. Every month, the council would give out the funds as they saw fit for the proposals they received.
