Changes to E-Reserves: Can't access PDFs on laptop offline
posted almost 13 years ago
I just realized that there was another person having this problem as well -
When I access e-reserves for my courses, I can no longer download and read the PDFs on my personal laptop. When I open the e-reserve online, I can see all of the pages perfectly fine. When I attempt to save the file to my computer and open it, all of the pages save the first page with information about the source are completely white, even when I'm using UMBC's wi-fi and have logged into UMBC's network.
However, I opened the same files on a computer in commonvision (so, an official UMBC location - I'm assuming the Library might be the same too) I can save and open the files perfectly fine and none of the pages are blocked out.
It seems like this is some sort of security function with the reserves, but it's extremely frustrating since I can no longer read the digital versions of these files from my personal computer and access them when I don't have access to an internet connection.
This is the first semester that I'm having this issue, so I'm just wondering if this is happening to anyone else or if there's a solution.
