Should UMBC secede from the University of MD?

Hello my fellow retrievers,
I come to you, my esteemed compatriots, with a query of the utmost importance. We have reached a crossroads at this university. The time for change is now!
For far too long we UMBC students have been subjugated to the tyrannical lordship of the University of Maryland. Our rich history here in Baltimore County should not have to be under the authority of Maryland. Let the secession begin!
Like our fore fathers we are sick of being under the thumb of an absentee dictator. How could those fat cats sitting in their plush offices possibly know how us retrievers do?
Maybe its just me but I feel as if we should dress up as indians and throw tea into the harbor. Join together my friends and throw off this overcoat of oppression. We are ready for independence!
