What Is Love?

Hello everyone!
Love is often considered one of the most powerful human emotions. It can lift us up, smack us down, and make us act completely irrationally. For millennia we have grappled with the idea of love, told stories about it, sung its praises, bemoaned its consequences.
Is love physiological? Psychological? Spiritual? Some combination of these? Something else entirely? Where does it come from? Do we have any control over it?
