Shotgun Club @ UMBC
My name is Albert Hewitt. I am a junior Mechanical Engineering major here at UMBC. As a Mechanical Engineering major I am required to take a Technical Writing course and as the final project for this course I am required to compose a project proposal on a problem I believe needs to be addressed at UMBC. As a student who takes part in shotgun shooting sports, I believe that UMBC should establish a shotgun club for faculty and students of the university. Approximately 20% of Maryland residents identify themselves as a shooter and 80 million citizens of the United States (most of which are at least eligible to attend UMBC at some point in their lives) are gun owners. I believe such a team would be beneficial to UMBC as it would allow the school to compete with other colleges who have teams as well as give recognition to a group of students who are often ignored or overlooked. If you could spare a moment of your time to take this short survey (at the link below) I would be incredibly grateful (its only 5 multiple-choice questions and should take about 2 minutes to complete). I am attempting to measure student interest in such a club.
