Interest in a TWLOHA Chapter?
Help bring hope to UMBC!
I've been a supporter of To Write Love On Her Arms, TWLOHA, since high school, and I'm thinking about starting a University Chapter of the organization here at UMBC. Any one interested?
For those new to TWLOHA, here is it's mission statement:
MISSION STATEMENT:
To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.
TWLOHA basically tries to bridge the gap between people and the help they need. They raise awareness of these issues, provide lots of resources for referral, and try to show everyone that they are loved and that there is hope; they can get out of their situations.
As a University Chapter, we'd be doing pretty much the same thing. We would make TWLOHA visible. We would spread the word about resources. We would let people know that they aren't alone in their struggles and try to help them out. We would also host some fun event to benefit TWLOHA, like concerts.
Would anyone be interested in this? Let me know! If you want more information, email me or check out the TWLOHA website. There's a ton of cool stuff on there.
