Is anyone else receiving erratic bills from UMBC?
I'm wondering if this has been a problem for anyone else?

Does anyone have random bills coming to them durring the semester?
Or does anyone feel that these bills should be all together as one sum?
---
As a first semester transfer student to UMBC I've had a difficult time getting everything paid. Some of my tuition was paid by a third party, or scholarship, and as I was getting this all set up one of the financial aid representatives at UMBC told my third party I was no longer going to college. Eventually that was all sorted out, and luckily was not billed past the due date for this mishap.
About 1-2 weeks after my tuition was paid, and I was free of debt and only had to worry about my classes and other personal issues, etc.
Four weeks into the semester I received an email stating I had an unpaid bill and had to pay $100 extra dollars, which was later, after many many emails, known to me as a matriculating fee only to be paid for the first semester.

Hardly having enough money for gas, I had to borrow $100 and pay that off..
Here it is, a little over the first half of the semester and I receive another email stating I owe $125. This is apparently for Tuition and Fees.

Here's the Fall 2011 Tuition and Fees from the Student Business Services page

Are you checking the "account inquiry" section in myUMBC or just your e-bills? The activity section should tell you what the charges are so you can make sure you're not getting overcharged.
Unfortunately, it really is best to figure it out for yourself because the people you ask are too lazy to do the jobs they are paid to do. If you leave it up to them, nothing will get done. It's hard to say how the timing of the billing "should be" because you never know if it's the result of someone's screw up. I would just say if the charge makes sense to you, then don't worry about when you received the bill.
I posted this in the other thread, so if you think this counts as a "fiscal irregularity" maybe you should report it.
UMBC Policy page.

I clicked the "Policy on Reporting Suspected or Known Fiscal Irregularities"

I'm thinking paragraph 4 applies to all us students with mistakes on our bills.
4. A person who suspects financial misconduct may initially
report the suspicion to the Internal Audit Office of System
Administration for investigation. Preliminary findings will
be reported by the Internal Audit Office to the Chancellor
and to the Chief Executive Officer for further action.
Internal Audit Office of System Administration would be these people

And I believe the reporting would be done here

As far as I'm concerned, these mistakes are a form of unintentional (or maybe intentional) extortion. If we don't pay, they will send the bill to a debt collection agency, and it will mess up our credit. Not to mention there are late fees that will probably be assessed if we refuse to pay.
