So why, no gay marriage?
No, seriously, why is it wrong?

Okay, so how exactly is opposing gay marriage based on the argument that "it's in the Bible" valid? I don't know much about the Bible, but this really doesn't seem like anything more than a flimsy excuse for bigotry. I mean, during the American Civil War, slave owners made the argument that slave ownership wasn't wrong because it was in the Bible.
Besides, even if you do believe that being gay is a sin, you shouldn't enforce that belief on others. The United States government isn't supposed to represent ANY religion. Forcing the law to comply to the ideals of Christianity, or any religion, for that matter, is wrong. There is really no ethical argument here either. Unlike with abortion issues, you can't argue that having gay marriage hurts anyone. You could argue that having gay marriage will encourage more people to be openly gay, but is there really anything wrong with that?
Long story short, I really can't see how any argument against gay marriage is anything other than "gay people make me uncomfortable, and I want them to not exist!"
