Erik Walker hates Nickelback
and so does everyone else!
So, you all may have seen that Nickelback has been chosen as the halftime act for the Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions game on Thanksgiving. This has caused an uproar amongst fans and a petition is being circulated in protest against the crappy pop band.
An excerpt:
“This game is nationally televised, do we really want the rest of the US to associate Detroit with Nickelback? Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?! Does anyone even like Nickelback? Is this some sort of ploy to get people to leave their seats during halftime to spend money on alcoholic beverages and concessions? This is completely unfair to those of us who purchased tickets to the game. At least the people watching at home can mute their TVs…”
The petition can be found here. What are your opinions on this? A Canadian rock band that was voted as the Number One musical turn-off playing for an American holiday/American tradition?
Some of my favorite comments on the petition:
Eric Ransom: "Haven't the good people of Detroit been through enough?"
Colin Robbins: "I proably won't even watch the game, but if i can help stopping one nickelback gig, i'll know i have done good work."
Kyle Dobbe: "The suicide rate in Detroit is high enough."
Taylor Bittner: "Nickelback is the worst group ever. I don't want to be sitting around with my family and have to listen to even more annoying people."
