Four on Six (Four to the Bar)
Jazz Rhythm Guitarist
posted about 14 years ago
I have been playing guitar for 20 years specializing in Swing, Piedmont, Jazz and Ragtime. I am looking to form a jazz combo in the spirit if the Big Four, Hot Fives and Count Basie. I mostly play 4 to the bar in the style of Freddie Greene, but I am still learning.
Question: Is anyone interested in starting a small jazz combo with me?
We need at least one piano, lead player (trumpet, clarinet, sax) but I am also encouraged to have a bass player and maybe a drummer. Most of the songs I know are out of the Real Book (Gershwin, Kern, Porter, Rodgers Hart Hammerstein, Berlin, Fields,Carmichael).
