UMBC and College Park Merger?
Will UMBC get swallowed up by its Jealous Older Brother????

One of the links on the UMBC website talks about a UMB merger with UMCP. Now my question to you guys, is UMBC a part of UMB or is it a separate entity? If these two schools are the same, whats going to happen to UMBC? Why should we have to become part of College Park when we have finally began getting recognition we deserve.
Mergers, usually happen when one company is failing or they merge in fear of another company gaining more power. In this case UMB is gaining alot of recognition as well as UMBC. Is the reason for this merger, to stop our shine, and link it all together will College Park, are we becoming a threat to College Park?
As I was looking through past articles,College Park supposedly lost funding. Is this merger going to take away our money? I'm not sure whether or not UMBC is under UMB. I am still looking that up as I type this, but if this merger goes through,we are screwed. However, if this is just a UMB thing, how long would it take for UMBC to get thrown into the merger as well? All I'm saying is that if I wanted to go to College Park,I would have went.I proudly state that I attend the University of BALTIMORE COUNTY, does anybody else feel the same way???
