I have had a major error on my bills and balances each semester I have been at UMBC. After multiple emails, I have been fortunate to get those charges corrected. But if you are not checking closely, you too may be paying more than you should. I was charged for a summer class before I ever got to UMBC my first semester.  Whenever I questioned the charge, I was treated like I owed UMBC the money and it was never their mistake.  I've had to print screens from their website to support my claim and send email repeatedly.  Today, I had to go to the bank to get verification that I made the July payment - which I did. This is frustrating, annoying, and stressful. I don't have the money to pay extra for UMBC; that's why I check closely. If UMBC leadership reads this, please consider making some changes in the billing department. If you are a student, check you bills. If UMBC has a hundred corrections to make maybe they will see there is a problem or maybe something else is going on.
