Faith in Humanity
Faith in Humanity
posted about 13 years ago
Over the years, there is a lot that makes people want to say that their faith in humanity is lost. For many on this forum, we see posts that reflect this every day. Discussions about our failures, etc.
I feel that this is a poor reflection of the world around us. It is said that it is easier to focus on the negative than the positive. Looks at the news, you'll see plenty of things to be depressed about. It focuses on the negative, it tends to get more attention.
I hope this post can prove this idea wrong on some level. It's a night where I have found some things that reaffirm my faith in humanity. I'll display my collection that will hopefully reaffirm yours.
This is probably the best place to start. Skip to 1:25 if you don't have the full five minutes or just want to get to the good part.
The greatest speech you may ever hear, and it came from the comedian Charlie Chaplin.
Use this one to make you think.
If you want to be surprised by how some people act, watch this nice video here.
I love stories because of this clip. Movie clip or not, it's how I like to think the world works, with or without a God.
This thing may be the longest to read, but I guarantee it is worth reading. I'll give you a sample from it:
I am part of a lost generation
and i refuse to believe that
I can change the world.
I realize this may be a shock but
"Happiness comes from within"
is a lie, and
"Money will make me happy."
So in 30 years I will tell my children
they are not the most important thing in my life.
My employer will know that
I have my priorities straight because
work
is more important than
family
I tell you this
Once upon a time
Families stayed together
but this will not be true in my era.
This is a quick fix society
Experts tell me
30 years from now, I will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of my divorce.
I do not concede that
I will live in a country of my own making
In the future
Environmental destruction will be the norm
No longer can it be said that
My peers and I care about this earth
It will be evident that
My generation is apathetic and lethargic
It is foolish to presume that
There is hope.
Think this is depressing? It should be. Now read it backwards.
Finally:
"Go live a life you have been too scared to live, and maybe now we will all learn not to be afraid of the outcome before it's too late."
Feel free to share your collection of motivation.
