I am making this thread to help out those like me who still have not mastered all the knobs and levers of MyUMBC.

So here is how it is going to go (I Hope).

You ask your question to the community (other people on MyUMBC at the time). Hopefully someone who knows what you want to know will be on MyUMBC at the time and answer your question. I found that any question will be answered within about 1-2 hours at most (if you post at 1am then it may take 4-5 hours).

I am not restricting questions to just that of MyUMBC but any questions you may have because the title does say (The Support Thread) so you can ask questions about anything UMBC related or not.

Don’t know the best place to buy quality food near campus then ask it

Don’t know what movie to watch this weekend? Ask for reviews

The support is there all you need is a means of accessing it.

Now I will give you 4 things that I know how to do (now) so that the thread can get going.

How do I change my Profile Picture?

To change your profile picture you must do the following:

1) Go to the top right hand corner of the page and you will see your name listed

2) Scroll your mouse over it and a list will appear

3) Click the option "Avatar"

4) From there all you need to do is pick an image that is with the parameters listed and you’re done.

How do I post an image into the comments box?

Copy the bellow code and post your link into the "insert link here"

NOTE: do not remove the "....." as they are still important.

How do I post a comment?

To post a comment all you must do is scroll down and under the “(your name) is replying…” right your comment. After you are done just click “Post Reply” and your comment should appear as the last one in the thread. If you are still having issues E-mail me

How do I post a video into the comment box?

To post a video into the comment box do the following:

1) Find the video you want to post

2) use this link to create the embed code:

https://developers.google.com/youtube/player_parameters

3) Copy and paste the embed code  (starts and ends with <…>)

4) Post reply and your done

NOTE: MyUMBC only accepts the old embed code; the new one will have you redirected to an error page.
