OK I think we've had enough.
Tyler Jennings has to go.

Trolls are a problem on MyUMBC. Comment trolls could be dealt with by giving the OP tight thread controls, sure, but the threat of spamming topics is a serious problem as well. The easiest solution to both is suspension (Temporary or permanent) of posting privileges. There's details to iron out (Mostly rule definitions) but the fact of the matter is, the easiest and most historically effective means of combating trolls is to remove their ability to influence discussions (That is, post.)
In light of this I'd like to request the revocation of Tyler Jenning's posting privileges on the News and Discussion boards. Tyler has repeatedly shown that he is not interested in having reasonable discussion, both with his general demeanor and recently his spat of locked inflammatory threads. It is questionable whether Tyler even believes the material he posts; his extreme
positions and flagrant disregard for standards of decency, paired with the almost comical defense of even defensible positions lends him the appearance of a parody of the right wing stereotype. Were Tyler like Erik Walker, merely a poster holding an extreme and questionably rational position, I would not be posting this. But no. There is at least a strong inductive argument to be made that Tyler posts for the sake of making people angry or provoking a reaction: Pure trolling.
Either way Tyler does not contribute meaningfully to discussions, and allowing him to continue sends the message that such behavior is acceptable on the MyUMBC boards. I doubt that's the message you want to send, so I think it's about to actually start enforcing that community standard. Thank you for your support.
