A similar discussion about having a football team and it's relation to school spirit made me think about our community outside . The one thing that saddens me about our UMBC community is that UMBC spirit seems dead once you leave campus. Personally, I have only seen one place that sells UMBC paraphernalia which is the Walmart in Halethorpe so far. I know that some of the local stores are really supportive of our organizations on campus, but I would love the idea of an increase in stores selling our name by having our paraphernalia around town like other universities.  Do you think that the neighboring towns should be decorated with the UMBC logo? If so, which town or towns?
