I'm writing to test the waters for a prospective club/organization that I've been thinking about for a while now: a singles club at UMBC. This is nothing too serious but rather a fun and open environment where fun, exciting and adventurous singles on campus can get together and meet others who are available and looking. The club would organize mixers/speed dating/etc. -type events that would encourage students to put themselves out there and meet new people with similar tastes, goals and interests.  

We're not out to facilitate hookups (there are websites for that sort of thing...) but rather meaningful relationships. Everybody would be welcome; obviously the organization is intended for singles but if two-timing floats your boat then we're not going to stop you!

We also need a catchier name. Suggestions welcome.

Just an idea for now but if there is enough interest then we will definitely pursue making this happen!
