Topic Starter Deleting Comments
*This is a continuation of a side-topic that was started on page 2 of the 10 minute edit limit thread.*
"With a thread creator being able to delete comments that are insulting and controversial, the rate of abuse on myUMBC discussions would deplete drastically and favorably."
What one may think are insulting and controversial, another may think of them as being thoughtful and agreeable. Besides, if you find a post to be insulting, why don't you bury it and let others who wants to see the post see it?
"Joseph, you only said that because you have, perhaps, little to no threads created on myUMBC, thus have no course to say otherwise."
Nope. I said that because I despise censorship of any post no matter how insulting or controversial.
"Not mentioning names, but there are people who purposefully go on other people's threads to 'flamebait' (as Michael mentioned earlier) and post some rather disgusting comments. This may seem daunting to you, Joseph, but I promise you it's a good suggestion, and would perhaps be the start of the end of trolling on myUMBC discussions."
Those who are only trolling wouldn't care if their posts are deleted. They would just make another post, and the trolling would continue.
