Opportunities to learn WHY tuition is increasing so rapidly

Last week I proposed a potential reason as to why tuition rates have increased so dramatically in higher education. I quoted some statistics from a NYT's editorial regarding the growth of administrators in universities and link that growth to tuition increases.
I still believe that to be a likely cause. However, I am very aware that the situation is complicated and I would advocate for an open discussion on this campus between students, faculty and administrators.
One opportunity is happening this evening. Join US Democrazy and College Democrats for their screening of Ivory Tower this Thursday at 7:00 pm in UC 115. Afterwards there will be a discussion about rising tuition costs.
In addition to that opportunity, I am encouraging individuals interested in the rising tuition problem to read the following book, "The Fall of the Faculty: The Rise of the All-Adminstrative University and Why it Matters", by Benjamin Ginsberg, a political science professor at JHU. Hopefully, at some point we can have a campus wide-discussion of the book.
While I don't agree with everything Dr. Ginsberg says, he brings up some very relevant points linking the increase in administrators (those that have power to make decisions) to the potential decline of high quality undergraduate education in the US.
