High-pressure group?
Anyone else run into these folks?

So for the second time this semester, I got approached this evening (around 7:30 by the UC) by two people who engaged me in a faith-based discussion. These two individuals were nicely dressed (like Jehovah's Witnesses) and asked if I had heard of "God the Mother". I lied and said yes to try to evade the discussion, but they continued on and said they had a group that got together to talk about stuff like that "Wednesdays mostly, but maybe Thursdays too if people can't make it". I asked where they usually met and what time, but didn't really get a straight answer. They also kept insisting on getting my contact info so they could tell me when/where meetings were, but I declined and said I had to be somewhere - which happened to be my own church-group meeting. I brought up the encounter there, and our group leader/pastor said she'd heard of similar stuff happening to other people, and that they'd been identified as a high-pressure group.
Both times this group has approached me, I was walking alone and it was dark. I usually don't try to engage people like that, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and hope they're just asking me for directions or something. They've also never given me a specific name for their group. All in all, I'm feeling a little sketched out that this keeps happening. Anyone else have a similar experience or some added insight?
