Is UMBC unreasonable with their "Code of Conduct"?

Last week, I was involved in a physical altercation in Hillside Apartments with another UMBC student. The situation was brought to the Community Director by the other UMBC student and "allegedly" I have been accused of being a substantial threat to myself and others.
Fine.
So, I was informed at or around 4pm (yesterday/2-4-15/a week later), that I have 20 minutes to gather my belongings and get off residential life property. They (ResLife) deactivated my ID, took my keys, and also my residential ID. I had class from 5:00pm-6:45pm and another class from 7:10pm-9:40pm. When I was let out of class at 9:40pm. I had no place to go.
My residential expenses have been paid, and tutition as well.
I just don't get how you leave a young lady 20 minutes to receive your belongings and say "find a place to stay" in the middle of the night.
I still have my documents, food, etc. in my apartment.
What do you think? Because truthfully there weren't any weapons (knives, guns, etc.), drugs, verbal/written threats, cheating, etc. involved. So why, and many other students, are we treated like certified criminals? Why not give me 24 hour notice instead of 20 minutes?
I am not the only person that has dealt with this similar situation, I just believe this needs to brought to the UMBC community.
