What Says You About Forcing Employees to Wash Hands?
A NC freshman Senator Says No

Okay, so here is this senator from North Carolina named Thom Tillis. He thinks restaurants should not be forced to have their employees wash their hands. Instead, he thinks the market will handle it, and that signs indicating whether or not the restaurants have their employees wash their hands should be posted. Okay, here's the thing: this is assuming that everyone is rational. There is the occasional maladroit who forgets to wash his hands, and contaminates the glove box with bacteria (he was using the toilet). That's a minor case; a major case would be that a restaurant doesn't force its employees to wash their hands and get away with it; after all, not all food poisoning cases are immediate. And it would take quite a while before the markets react to decrease the demand for its services. *Never mind that forcing restaurants to post a sign telling whether or not it has its employees wash their hands after using the restroom would be considered regulation. Nice try.
Wow, what a long block of text about how this senator says such nonsense. It's one thing to have an ideology, but it is another to fully implement it into the system. It's like letting a person with tuberculosis or a person with typhoid fever walk around, serving food, and killing people around him without his knowledge. Remember Typhoid Mary?
In any case, feel free to share your views. Oh, and please wash your hands before you start serving burgers or handling meal trays.
*This point indicates a contradiction in the senator's words.
