What should we do about these recent Measles outbreaks?
and the anti-vaccine movement?

First there was Disneyworld, then California. What is next?
I suppose the first question is are there any merits to this anti-vaccine movement at all, given what has just happened?
Second, something I want to know is whether it is childhood vaccines or ALL of them (smallpox, meningitis, tetenus, etc.)?
Third, and perhaps most importantly, what should be done about all this? Can we really afford to continue a lax policy of let people choose for themselves? Would forcing people to be vaccinated be the correct choice? Are thre any other viable options?
My opinion? Well, honestly, I would say MAKE people get vaccinated. People have a responsibility not to get each other sick if they can easily avoid it. This isn't like the flu shot which changes all the time. These are shots for diseases that, until now, were more or less eliminated. So rather than revive old diseases, we should crack down if we have to honestly.
