Can I test out of English Composition?

Hey,

So I transferred to UMBC last semester and apparently my first-year English class credit didn't transfer over as an equivalent to Composition so I have to take it.

Problem is, I can only take three classes this semester (long story) and it's taking the spot of an English class I may actually need to catch up in the major.

At this rate I might have to pick up another semester before I can graduate.

Is there a way to test out of English Comp? I got the highest score on the exam but it doesn't mean anything. UGH.
