Where to recycle 300 old computers for free?
Hi,
I volunteer for a non-profit organization called World Computer Exchange. Currently, I am looking for certified (R2 and ISO 14001) e-waste recyclers that serve the Baltimore area to get an estimate of the cost to recycle the following:
- 13 pallets 4’ to 5’ tall of very old Mac power pcs 5500, mostly the all-in-one monitor/CPU models) with some printers and scanners. Our estimate is that there are about 300 of these computers.
I need to know about how much it would be to recycle the equipment, and how much to have it picked up. The equipment is located at a warehouse in Baltimore and it is on pallets. We do not need to have the hard drives swiped.
* We are a nonprofit, we could offer a donation receipt for part or all of the costs of these services.
I have contacted several R2 and ISO 14001 e-waste recyclers, but they seem to charge too much. Please let me know if there is a way to recycle 300 old computers for free or for the cost of transporting it to a recycler, thanks!
