For those of you who don't know about Global Brigades, it is a club at UMBC that is an international non-profit organization that empowers communities to meet their health and economic goals through university volunteers and local teams.This upcoming spring break, the medical brigade, along with other brigades, is going to Panama to help those in need by providing medical supplies and general health care. Medical supplies don't come cheap and a lot of money needs to be raised in order to provide these supplies. So, as for one of our fundraisers, we have decided to sell yankee candles and direct the profits towards providing medical supplies for the less fortunate in Panama. I am asking everyone to spread the word to your friends and family and to purchase yankee candles from me and others in the club to support this organization to help those in need. It would be a great holiday gift and it would be for a good cause. I will be selling yankee candles online so be sure to email me at esohn1@umbc.edu if you are interested in buying one!
