Obama: "We Tortured Some Folks"
posted over 10 years ago
It would appear that Obama has admitted the US tortured people under the Bush administration. This means that the Bush Junta are war criminals. The US has signed and ratified the 'UN Convention Against Torture' in 1994. Having been ratified by the US means that it has the full force of the Constitution behind it, which means it's "the supreme law of the land." The 'UN Convention Against Torture' also requires public officials like Obama with knowledge of torture to act and bring those who allowed and committed torture to justice. In not referring the credible allegations of torture to the Justice Department for investigation and subsequent proceedings, Obama himself can be in trouble for being an accessory after the fact for obstructing justice.
The neo-conservatives are very angry and upset that Obama didn't dehumanize these people and call them "terrorists," but instead called them "folks."
The worst part, in my opinion, is Obama had the gall to call the people that were upset over this as "too sanctimonious."
