Learning a Language during the Summer Session
What are the pros and cons?

I understand the pros and cons of taking a summer course in general.
But I figure for something like learning a language, these pros and cons are null and void.
So would it be smart or not-so-smart to take a language course over the summer?

If your target language is related to your native language, it will probably be easier. If you are a native speaker of English and trying to learn Arabic or Chinese, you will have to learn a very new sound system, writing system, grammar, etc.
