[com] - Looking for general officers!

[com] Comics and Other Media 

is looking for motivated General Officers!! 


As my other forum post states, a new group called [com] Comics and Other Media was officially recognized. However, a few people who are officers of the group are graduating. Please email me if you are interested in any officer positions. You will definitely develop some leadership skills!

Various attributes we are looking for:

  • Passion for learning what techniques work in different medias
  • Passion for comic books
  • Desire to help create an amazing group
  • Motivation to follow through with planning
  • Creativity, esp. Big Ideas
  • Photography and Adobe suite (Historian)
  • General Helpers
  • Desire to do something bigger than yourselves!
You do not need to have every single one of these characteristics, but they do help. If you are interested in becoming an officer, comment below or email me, and I'll email you back. :)



We are going to try and get some huge events together, and it will be amazing. 
This group for general artists interested in learning how they can improve in media, as well as people interested in comic books, or have the desire to make comic book. Some guest speakers could help with game design ideas also. The group should provide learning experiences for individuals, and in the very least be extremely interesting! However, those with a general interest in movies or comics are totally invited also! 

Possible Events:
  • Comic-Book Contests
  • Guest Speakers
  • Watch Movies and Learn
  • Superhero tournament Brackets for Prizes
  • Discussions of new comics or movies
  • T.V. Marathons
  • Our own Comicon at UMBC
  • Game Night
  • Cosplay parties and/or photo-shoots
  • Otakon trip or prized event
  • Comicon trip or prized event
  • And more!

Mission Statement:

To provide comics and show other medias, listed below, to educate techniques of both visual and auditory mediums in a peaceful learning environment. Involving trips to comic stores, events, and inviting relevant guest speakers from off campus and on campus. 

Medias: Comics, T.V. Series, Movies, Cartoons, and Manga.
