Would you join a Democratic Socialist group on campus?
Possibly growing awareness for a third candidate in 2016

Lately I've been exploring new political ideas unlike those I was taught growing up. My foremost concern at the moment is the United States' shrinking middle class. After some brief research (of which I have much more to do in order to form any kind of solid opinion) it seems that large american companies are doing very well, but the money being made is not flowing down from the top (as I previously believed it should) instead it's resting in the hands of the very richest and staying there. I have nothing against the rich, but the question is, do they have too much while so many are willing to work hard for so much less, and is it reasonable to allow someone to make 5 million dollars a year when that could pay 100 people 50k a year instead (I am not advocating everyone making the same pay)? Is freedom from government regulation so important that its worth letting millions live paycheck to paycheck for the sake of a handful of successful entrepreneurs and entertainers? (This is an honest question) I'm not convinced that democratic socialism is the answer, and I want to hear different opinions, but to me, at least right now, it seems like a serious argument.
