May 3rd: Free Comic Book Day - Will you attend? [com]
Interested in free comics, stuff and a new experience?
Free Comic Book Day - Will you attend?
Yes? Please paw!
If anyone is interested, next Saturday is Free Comic Book Day. "Free Comic Book Day, taking place on the first Saturday of May, is an annual promotional effort by the North American comic book industry to help bring new readers into independent comic book stores."
If anyone is interested, there are two stores that I am familiar with that are hosting huge FCBD events. There are many other local comic book stores that are giving away free comics and doing cosplay contests.

My Experience
Personally, I enjoy going to Free Comic Book Day because it is an experience like no other. I love to stay the night outside waiting in line, not quite for free comics, but just because it is a neat little adventure. I get to meet new people, see who else is willing to wait in line and feel apart of a different community. Sleeping outside of someones house in their driveway was pretty interesting too. I just enjoy the thrill of going to comic book stores and looking around with all the other people doing the same. Last year I was under neither the table for whatever reason looking through boxes of comics that looked interesting. People were just walking around me, it was exciting and awkward at the same time.
You don't have to enjoy comics to have a good time, in my opinion. It is actually a day to see what it is all about, and to give it a chance. They are FREE after all. How can you say no?
This year I will be camping outside in front of Collectors Corner from Thursday night until Saturday Morning. :) Anyone is welcome to join me. Depending place in line and when you join, I will split what I get if we win if anyone is willing to do the same. We could have a group of people trying to win the shopping spree and split the money or something.
Sincerely,
David K?
