Growing up, I was always told that after you've completed a sentence, space twice, then begin your next sentence.  A good friend of mine who is just a year younger than me and went to different elementary and middle schools, said that she's never heard of that.  She was always told one space after a sentence.

I don't care which is right or wrong or whatever, I'm just curious as to what you have been taught.
