Petition to fix the water drainage/sidewalk level problem
posted over 10 years ago
I was walking outside today and the rain was pouring from above. Whats worse is that the rain was trying to attack from below as well.
I was wondering if UMBC could implement a bit more water drains in academic row; or at least level out the sidewalk concrete so that the water doesn't puddle and gather into a mini pond. I really liked how UMBC fixed a lot of the stairs steps. (high five! ... or self five if no return five)
I believe that the situation should be made aware to the administration.
For example, the path to Fine Arts from the Biology building. Every time it rains, a HUGE puddle forms and every UMBC student is forced to make the leap to dryness. Fun fact, we are not Mario or Luigi, neither do we have their jumping talents; unless of course we have some Olympian Long jumpers...
Another example, the HUGE puddle between the Biology building and the Math/Psych building
Could UMBC level out the sidewalks so that the water drains properly into the drains?
If UMBC can't level out the sidewalks for rainy days, we could just rename academic row to The Panama Canal Replica, (This option probably would not be the best for everyone's convenience)
Paw for ... dry footwear? or just paw because you like pawing things
On a side note, I haven't mentioned the absolute genius who masterfully engineered academic row to be a wind tunnel. (I don't prefer to face a tornado every time I walk to class)
