Should the American League get rid of the DH rule?

Baseball is about to begin soon, so I'd thought I'd make a poll about the designated hitter rule in the American League. I have a few issues with it.
1. It violates the very first rule of baseball. "Baseball is a game between two teams of nine players each..." With the DH rule, it becomes 10 players.
2. Those players that suck at fielding or have gotten to old to do anything but bat, should retire or go back to the minors.
3. The National League is more amusing to watch because it involves more strategy because the pitcher has to bat.
So, should the American League get rid of the designated hitter rule?
PS: I know the Twins suck and will probably come in last or second to last in their division. So will the Orioles. Ooooh
