Professor begins class before posted start time?

I work 8-5 and take evening/night classes. I race to make it in time by the class start time 5:30, and one professor in particular has been consistently starting class 5 or more minutes early. For me and my race to class, every minute counts, and I don't want to miss the material at the beginning because the prof is starting early.
Is it reasonable for me to ask him, for example, to check that his clock is correct? Or to wait until the posted start time before he starts class?
Anyone else have issues with profs starting early?
