So here we are, yet again,
where hecklers try to make pretend
that putting someone down online
is innocent—for fun—benign.
To trod upon the names of those
whose only crime is to oppose
a Group-Thinking hegemony
is shameful, at the very least.
Adamsen is more a man
than Vazquezes can understand.
His goal is not to make you laugh—
—or angry, can you be so daft?
His duty on this broken earth
is not to feed your petty mirth
but to exhort you change your ways
before you face your final days.
Eck does not see quite as wide
in scope, but still he tries to guide
the wise to understand the truth
and not spend foolishly their youth.
Cockrell does seem less ambitious,
but his faith need not be fictitious.
He may not yet have grown as zealous
as the more passionate among us.
To err is human, forgive, divine,
and though you chased me for a time,
you’re still misleading when you show
you think the reason I did go
to great lengths was with ego’s help,
for Ego is concerned with self;
Love concerns itself with others.
That’s why I can only wonder:
What do you gain from mocking me?
- Discourage those who might agree?
- Esteem yourself more highly when
you’re lauded by the liberal men?
This never was about my pride.
If that was true, you’d seen me hide
as soon as I took scorn for He
Who won for me the Victory.
The One in charge is not involved
in petty squabbles not resolved.
To think a mouthpiece could replace
the Speaker does seem out of place.
Yes, call me arrogant if you
sincerely think that that is true.
But if you know better—and I think you ought—
then give up this battle that you’ve fought.
You’re yearning for a past long gone;
meanwhile, my life is moving on.
Don’t fail to realize that I’m
only here for a little time.
To waste it all on trivial chuckles
of boys with tightening belt buckles
who can’t be bothered to give ear
to the real reason I came here
would be a damned shame.
Those were not good ol’ days for me.
Constant attacks from enemies
who may very well have achieved their aim
of bringing ignominy to my name.
The Word exhorts disciples to
dust off their feet as they pass through
places that did receive them not
and leave their judgment alone to God.
Life is far more serious to me
than you, who seeks frivolous glee.
I’ll gladly speak to those who show
sincere desire to know what I know,
but Greg, you are not one of them,
and yet you vainly call me friend.
I find this tragic, though I pray
that you may yet mature one day.
I wish for all who read this verse
to know that I do not them curse
but earnestly I plead for all
to hearken to the Saviour’s call.
There’s naught of more importance than
the salvation of any man.
THIS is what my life’s about.
I hope you understand that now.
