Eagles on Campus
Spot any unusual Birds on Campus?
posted about 14 years ago
Today (20 September 2010), while outside the Math/Psychology building (near the Quad) at around 8 a.m. I noticed a rather large bird sitting in a tree, when I approached (within about 10 ft), I deduced it was an eagle. I'm wondering if anyone else saw this bird, if so, did you snap a photo? I'm curious as to what type of eagle would come on campus. It was hunting a pair of squirrels when I saw it, fortunately the squirrels were unharmed as the eagle flew off after jumping from limb to limb of the tree the squirrels were in.

There are 2 red tail hawks on campus that are always hunting squirrels. they are rather large birds and eagles are more rural animals I have watched them get a couple of squirrels when i have my evening classes and im sitting around waiting. Predators gotta eat too :)
