Alabama Blogger May Be The Only Person Jailed For Journalism

The US has finally started to compete with the rest of the world with caging Journalists. Mr. Shuler is a blogger who wrote a story about a former republican governor's son, who supposedly had an affair with lobbyist who he knocked up, and secretly paid for an abortion. Shuler is being caged for refusing to comply with an order relating to the defamation suit over said matter.
His sources are iffy, but experts on the first amendment (not you Matt :P) and freedom of the press say the "injunction contradicted decades of First Amendment jurisprudence and did so in complete secrecy, as all records in the case were initially sealed by the court."
The Reporters Committee for the Freedom of the Press wrote:"Neither a default judgment nor a full adjudication on the merits of the defamation claims appears to have occurred. ... Courts have determined that bans on speech prior to such determinations are prior restraints. The Supreme Court has found prior restraints to be presumptively unconstitutional and has never upheld one."
Apparently, no country in South America has any journalists caged.
