Memoirs of a soon to be Graduate
Have you crossed everything off of your UMBC Bucket List?
posted almost 11 years ago
As I look to my last few days here as an undergraduate student of UMBC, I come to wonder, did I do everything that I wanted to do here at UMBC? I was thinking: man, I should have written on that bucket list that they put up at the beginning of the semester -- I could have been more driven into completing more specific goals.
(btw, here is the UMBC bucket list of 2013: http://my.umbc.edu/news/35405)
After reflecting and thinking what I might have missed out on, I came to the realization that I'm pretty happy with my undergraduate years here, and I hope that everyone else will have the same feeling as I do when they graduate.
Some things that I'll be happy to have completed in my undergraduate career:
Witness a huge bonfire on Erickson Field
Play in the UMBC Orchestra
Study abroad
Make wonderful and long lasting friends
Get a fun and rewarding job on campus
Become a leader of a student organization
Organize a successful event
Get into the UMBC fine arts program
Graduate
And those are just a small few of the more general things that I could think up of (I don't want to bore you to death by excessively gloating about my accomplishments).
So I didn't really get to see through the telescope in the physics building, and I didn't get to go swimming in the outdoor pool (or indoor one for that matter), but I guess they're just a couple of reasons to come back and visit!
(on a related note, now I'll be able to cross off posting a discussion up on the UMBC discussion board -- this post is all a ruse!)
What are some accomplishments that you achieved at UMBC that you are proud of?
