Xbox One vs. PS4
Which one did you/will you buy?
posted almost 11 years ago
Okay, I assume that by now everyone's had the time to get either an Xbox One or a PS4, so because UMBC has a large number of gamers, I wanted to know which one you got, and why. Or if you bought both or neither (for whatever reason, ex. you got a Wii U or want to stick with your last-gen console for the time being).
I also wanted to share something that may be relevant that I just made: an alternate gaming history video called "Nintendo Playstation Part 1." Here's the video description copied and pasted:
Part 1 of 5 in an alternate gaming history series by The Bathead [my Youtube name]. This is my first video series so be forgiving. I believe it is also something that has not been done before but don't let it set a standard.
Premise: The Playstation, the best-selling gaming console of all time and the one that broke the console war between Nintendo and Sega, was originally developed as a disk drive for the Super Nintendo, akin to the Sega CD. The day after it was announced, though, the deal broke up because Nintendo and Sony could not agree on sharing of revenue from the console. But what if the deal had gone through? How would gaming have been different?
Part 1 notes: I only mentioned titles that came out around when the Playstation would have been released in respective regions or well-known titles that would have benefited from its increased capabilities, for precautionary reasons. So if one of your favorite titles wasn't mentioned, I wasn't sure about it.
I wanted to use the font "Return of Ganon" from A Link to the Past for this part, but AuthorStream was being a bitch and not letting me use it. If I manage to get this into video with that font, I will reupload it.
Uploaded on a dreary night of November.
Part 2 coming Christmas Day!
Here's the first comment I posted, with additional useful info:

Yes,
there is no music and, yes, the action is pretty quiet. But don't
worry: the action will really pick up about a third of the way through
part 2, and right then epic music will kick in.
About the dark castle scene: It may be unusual for alternate history but it will be built on in upcoming parts.
Now no "first comments"!
An additional note for people unfamiliar with alternate history:
"Our timeline" is alternate history lingo for real history. The term presumes that the alternate events really happen in a quantum divergent reality.
I linked to this because it has some relevance to the original topic and because it may surpass what many of you have done on YouTube.
Watch it if you like, but be sure to vote in the poll!
