CFA Society Baltimore Student Membership 2024-2025
Free Membership
University students interested in learning more about the financial services profession are encouraged to join CFA Society Baltimore with a complimentary membership. Students are not required to pursue a CFA Charter and are entitled to discounted rates at many CFA Society Baltimore events. Students must agree to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics.
A valid student ID and proof of current school schedule are required.
***In order to be connected to CFA Society Baltimore, you must use your local Baltimore address when registering your CFAI account. Please make sure you have updated this address with your CFA Institute account so that we can find you in the database and link you to Baltimore. If your home address is used and is not local to Baltimore, you will not be identified in our system.
CFA Society Baltimore does not prorate dues. CFA Institute membership fees are separate. CFA Institute and Member Society dues are billed and collected on an annual basis from July 1 through June 30. Member Society dues vary and are non-transferable.

Disability Day of Mourning March 1 2025
Honoring the Lives of People with Disabilities
Every year on March 1st, the disability community gathers across the nation to remember disabled victims of filicide–disabled people murdered by their family members or caregivers. Earlier this week, UMBC's Women Gender and Equity Center held a vigil as this year it falls on a Saturday.
We see the same pattern repeating over and over again. A family member kills their disabled child or spouse. The media portrays these murders as justifiable and inevitable due to the “burden” of having a disabled person in the family. If the person stands trial, they are given sympathy and comparatively lighter sentences, if they are sentenced at all. The victims are disregarded, blamed for their own murder at the hands of the person they should have been able to trust the most, and ultimately forgotten. And then the cycle repeats within often inadequate and broken social systems.
Since 2012, ASAN and other disability rights organizations have come together at local vigils across the country to mourn those losses, bring awareness to these tragedies, and demand justice and equal protection under the law for all people with disabilities. On March 1st, we will come together again, and we ask you to join us. More information on those lost to filicide worldwide can be found on the Disability Day of Mourning website, which includes an Anti-Filicide Toolkit.
Resources include calling the 988 Crisis Response hotline, and reaching out to support via local resources, including Employee Assistance Programs, Retriever Integrated Health for self-care options.

Hello Retriever Entrepreneurs!
The CBIC is almost here! The submission form for the annual Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition is now live!
The CBIC is designed for students who are serious about starting a business or social impact venture. Students selected to go to the final competition will be paired with mentors to flesh out their business idea. This year, the ABCEI will offer 2 tracks: the Technology & Innovation Track and Social Impact Track. Winners in each track can win up to $4,000 with an opportunity to win an additional $2,000 after a 6 month progress review.
Here are the important dates to remember:
- Deadline for submissions NEXT WEEK: March 3 at 1pm
- Final Event: April 17 from 6:30 - 8:30pm at bwTECH South
