Interested in Aging?  The Wisdom Weavers are accepting nominations for their executive board for the 2025-26 school year. The following positions are open and individuals can submit their nomination at https://forms.gle/Srzp6j91tzEBBQ4J6 until Friday May 9th.

 Co-Presidents –(2 positions)  it shall be the duty of the Co-President to:

• Organizing and planning meetings

• Preside over meetings of the club

• Calls special meetings of the club when appropriate

• Prepare and record official files and records of the club

• Maintain contact with organizations/alumni/affiliated university department

• Finding resources, networking, events, volunteering opportunities

• Represents the club to the university and organizations

• Vote only in case of a tie

• Appoint committee and its members and chairpersons for special event

• Perform such other duties as ordinarily pertain to this club

• Substitute for the other president when it is needed

 Secretary – It shall be the duty of the Secretary to:

• Keep a record of all members’ name and contact information

• Keep a record of all activities of the club

• Notify all members of meetings

• Record the minutes of all meetings

• Email the minutes of the meeting to officers and faculty advisor the following day after the meeting

• Update Wisdom Weaver student interest page on MyUMBC 

Treasurer – It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to:

• Receive all funds/club dues and process requests for payment, Deposit Slip, and Officer Signature Forms.

• Keep an itemized account of all receipts, expenditures and make reports as directed

• Pays club bills, if any with the assistance of the faculty advisor (s)

• Prepares an end-of-semester and annual budget reports

• Maintains a financial history of the club

• Advises members on financial matters

• Coordinate fundraising drive

• Regular report of the available funds in each officers’ meeting

Historian

• Keep a record of the club’s accomplishments and activities

• Collect items such as pictures and news clippings about the club and its members

• Organize a scrapbook to tell the club’s story for the year

• Works as the administrator for the UMBC Wisdom Weavers if social media outlets exist.  All postings must be approved by the Faculty Advisor before posting.

• Photography of the meetings and events, organizing the pictures and sharing in social media if appropriate

• Regular announcements about club meeting in social media

• Minute taking of the meetings in case of secretary’s absence

• Writing summaries of the events
