April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and a time to focus on a crime that happens almost every two minutes in the United States (that means an average of 207,754 victims a year according to the U.S. Department of Justice's National Crime Victimization Survey).
The goal of SAAM at UMBC is to raise the campus community’s awareness about sexual violence and to educate students, faculty, staff, and our communities on how to prevent interpersonal violence. University Health Services and the Women's Center have put together a calendar of events for the month intended to raise awareness and educate our UMBC community. Please refer to the attached flyer for event details and save the date!
