<Title>Stipends for Unpaid Internships &amp; Service Opportunities!</Title>

    <div class="html-content"><p>Do you plan to pursue an unpaid internship or service opportunity for Summer 2021 at a Maryland small business or nonprofit? Whether you have already accepted a position or are in the process of applying, you may be eligible to apply for a financial stipend.</p><p>The UMBC Career Center and Shriver Center are proud to re-launch the annual <strong>UMBC Student Internship &amp; Service Fund</strong>, thanks to the generous support of our  alumni, campus and community members. This year, we will direct our funding to unpaid interns and volunteers at Maryland-based small businesses and nonprofits that have been impacted by COVID-19, or that serve communities affected by the pandemic.</p><h5>STIPEND AMOUNTS:</h5><ul><li><strong>$1,500 stipend</strong> <strong>for unpaid internships totaling 120 hours</strong> or more this summer</li><li><strong>$750 stipend</strong> <strong>for unpaid volunteer service totaling 60 hours</strong> or more this summer</li></ul><h5>ELIGIBILITY:</h5><ul><li>GPA of 2.5 or higher </li><li>You must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who will return to UMBC in Fall 2021.</li><li>You must have obtained, OR plan to obtain an unpaid position with a Maryland small business or nonprofit organization for Summer 2021.</li><li>If you have not already obtained an unpaid position for summer, you must secure a position by May 1, 2021.</li></ul><h5>HOW TO APPLY:</h5><p><span>For best consideration, </span><span>please submit your resume, unofficial transcript, and a personal statement in <a href="https://careers.umbc.edu/umbcworks/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">UMBCworks</a> (details about the personal statement are given in the posting). <strong>Search the Job ID: </strong></span><span><strong>9322922.</strong></span></p><p><span><strong>Deadline:</strong> Sunday, March 14</span></p><p><br></p><p>Questions? We want to make sure you are registered, prepared, and comfortable with this virtual format prior to the day of the fair so you can make the most of your time connecting with employers over live group chat and video.</div><div><br></div><div><h4>WHY SHOULD YOU REGISTER TODAY?</h4>The <a href="https://umbc2021springfair.vfairs.com/en/registration" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">registration process</a> will give you the opportunity to complete your profile and upload your resume. Employers will be able to search candidates based on the information provided on this registration form prior to and during the fair.</div><div><br></div><div>Registered students will have early access to view attending organizations, review their job opportunities and schedule 1:1 chats starting Monday, Feb. 1.</div><div><br></div><div><h4>WHAT WILL I NEED TO COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION PROFILE?</h4>You will want to have a current resume to upload to your profile. You can also upload a profile picture and provide the link for your LinkedIn Profile.<br><br><h4>Need assistance with your resume?</h4></div><div>A virtual resume review appointment can be made with a Career Center staff member by clicking the “Schedule Appointment” button on your UMBCworks home page.
