Meet at the Joseph Beuys Sculpture Garden at 4:00 p.m. to take a tour of UMBC's Herbert Run Greenway. This nature trail meanders along the Herbert Run stream. It connects the Sculpture Garden with Giffen Hill, the Athletic Fields, the upland forest, UMBCtech, Pig Pen Pond, and the Knoll. The tour is approximately 1 mile in length, will take a little over an hour, and requires good walking shoes that can go through some muddy areas. Long pants and a shirt are recommended. Trees are budding; tree frogs are chirping. The ground covers along the stream are turning green, and the forest is home to habitat for deer, birds, red fox, and many other creatures.
