    <div class="html-content"><div><span>Research and Process, featuring faculty and students involved in the "Can You Catch a Deep Fake?" and "Artifacts" research projects</span></div><div><br>Join researchers Lee Boot, Christine Mallinson, and research assistants, Lavon Davis and Zahra Khanjani, for intimate discussions about two critical research activities at UMBC, focused on the topics of climate science and Deep Fake audio technologies. Both of these interdisciplinary research activities use visualization strategies to interpret and understand important changes in our environment and culture. Her studio practice explores identity and the role of graphic design in decoloniality through the study and type design of Baybayin, a Tagalog writing system of the Philippines.</p><p>Join Julie Sayo in an interactive workshop to learn Baybayin writing and her research.</p><p>Space is limited. The gallery will reopen to the public beginning Friday, February 9th with our first show of the year, "Spectrum of Process: 2024 UMBC Faculty Exhibition." "Spectrum of Process" will be inaugurated by a festive reception free and open to all on February 8. 6-8pm.     <div class="html-content"><div><div><h4>Forest Therapy with Nature Sacred at UMBC</h4><div><br></div><div>UMBC is pleased to welcome the Nature Sacred Firesoul Network to join our monthly Wellness Wednesday event in July, and the public is invited too!</div><div><br></div><div>In partnership with Chesapeake Mental Health Collaborative's Center (<a href="https://www.cmhcweb.com/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">cmhcweb.com</a>) for <a href="https://www.cmhcweb.com/naturetraining" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Nature Informed Therapy</a>, and supported by Nature Sacred (<a href="https://naturesacred.org/" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">naturesacred.org</a>), this forest meditation and nature therapy session integrates traditional therapeutic methods with the healing effects of nature to restore and rejuvenate the mind and body.<div><br></div><div>Please plan to arrive early as our event will begin promptly at 12 noon on July 6, 2022.     <p><span>Congratulations to those Seniors who have recently graduated.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>Please mind the following deadlines and locations for picking up your artwork after the Senior Exhibition closes:</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><div>SENIOR EXHIBITION - IMPORTANT DATES &amp; DEADLINES</div><div><br></div><div><span>June 8 Saturday 5 PM - Exhibition Closes</span><br><br><span>June 14 Friday 4 PM ‐ Last day for pick-up of your artwork at CADVC, afterwards your artwork goes to Rm. 113 (If the door of the gallery is locked, dial 410-455-3188 for access Mon-Fri, 10 am - 4 pm until June 14th.)</span><br><br><span>CADVC &amp; VART will not be responsible for any items left past June 14th. Staff are not responsible for scheduling a time to meet with anyone for pick-ups beyond June 14th. We also cannot be responsible for any damage to works left after June 14th.     <p><span>Dear seniors working in time-based media:</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>Today a link to your BOX folder (Animation, CA, GD, Intermedia) for
    submitting time-based files was distributed to all students who submitted time-based artwork to the Google Form for the Senior Exhibition.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>IF you are submitting time-based work to the exhibit, AND you have submitted the artwork via the recently-circulated Google Form, but did NOT receive the email today with the BOX link, please send an email about it to <a href="mailto:abbotts@umbc.edu">abbotts@umbc.edu</a> after you have checked your spam folder.</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p><span>For your reference--instructions circulated with link to BOX:</span></p><p><span><br></span></p><p>
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    
    <span>Animation, Cinematic Arts, Graphic
    Design (Motion Graphics) and Intermedia students should submit their QuickTime
    files for the Senior Exhibition to this BOX folder. REQUIRED format is
    QuickTime H264. Include LAST NAME &amp; TITLE when naming files &amp; any time count
    &amp; series order if multiples. If submitting multiple works combine into a
    single subfolder with LAST NAME as folder name. If over 10 minutes, or if you
