    <div class="html-content"><div>commonvision is looking for Graphic Designers to join our team!</div><div><br></div><div><strong>Undergraduate UMBC students are preferred for this position.</strong></div><div><br></div><div>commonvision is UMBC's Student Design and Print Center, located in The Commons, Room 309. We are a full service print shop as well as a design and animation studio. Our Graphic Designers are responsible for on-campus advertisements, design for digital environments (social media and file creation for motion graphics), print design, and more! We are a full service print shop as well as a design and animation studio. Our Office Assistants are responsible for print job order intake and are trained on print and production services. A great job for hands on, creative students who want to learn more about print production and graphic design.</p><p><strong>Office Assistants</strong></p><p>You do not have to be a visual arts major to apply to this position! We are currently open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and are closed weekends and UMBC Holidays. </div><div><br></div><h3><strong>Wednesday, May 14</strong></h3><div><strong>commonvision, UMBC Student Design and Print Center will close early on Study Day (May 14). commonvision's hours Wednesday, May 14 will be 9 a.m. – Noon. </strong>We are closing early to recognize our seniors and student staff. The thesis exhibition features five artists with diverse artistic practices and approaches: McCoy Chance, Ahlam Khamis, Ghazal Mojtahedi, Alexi Scheiber, and Mariia Usova.</span><strong><span></span></strong></p><p><span>Since the inception of the IMDA MFA Program at UMBC in 1992, the exhibition is presented each spring semester. The goal of this merit-based award is to support an emerging artist of creative and scholarly excellence who has demonstrated a promise to make an impact on the field</span><span>. This year’s recipient of the RTKL fellowship is Alexi Scheiber.</span></div><div><div><span><br></span></div><div><span>Audience members are respectfully requested to wear a mask during this event, so the speaker may remove her mask for optimal audibility and communication. CADVC realizes masking is a personal decision and ultimately lies with each individual.</span></div><div><u>                                                                 </u><u>                           </u><u>                                                            </u></div><div><u><br></u></div><div><img src="https://cadvc.umbc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/247/2025/03/Improv-Ensemble-Pic-2.png" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto;"></div><p><span><strong>Live Improvised Musical Performance<br></strong></span><strong>April 4, 1-1:30 pm</strong></p><div><span><p>As part of “The Dead, The Living, and The Injured,” musicians Patrick Crossland, Ida Dierker, Brandon, Gouin, Jeremy Keaton, and Josh Weber join McCoy Chance for a collaborative performance exploring the lifespan of discarded electronics. They will engage with the screens and media works in the exhibition through live improvisation. The performance begins promptly at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 4, 2025, and will conclude in the Fine Arts Amphitheater immediately outside the gallery,—rain or shine—by 1:30 PM.     <div class="html-content"><div><img src="https://cadvc.umbc.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/247/2025/02/image1.jpg" style="max-width: 100%; height: auto;"></div><div><br></div><div><h1>Tomashi Jackson and Nia Evans: “Pedagogy Study Hall”</h1><div><div><div><p>In collaboration with policy analyst and economic advocate Nia Evans, Tomashi Jackson’s “Pedagogy Study Hall” project will host a series of intermedia series of public discussions about investment and disinvestment in the arts and humanities, looking to Baltimore as a critical case study in grassroots organizing in a system of gross structural inequity.</p><p>Baltimore offers a critical forum for exploring a range of formal and informal organizational approaches to arts education and community development through the arts. We are a full service print shop as well as a design and animation studio. Our Graphic Designers are responsible for on-campus advertisements, design for digital environments (social media and file creation for motion graphics), print design, and more!
