Book Cover Competition

<Tagline>win a $1000 prize</Tagline>

My name is
Celeste Shirecliffe. I spoke with the art department front desk today, and they connected me to you. I am the
author of the book, Hidden Contempt, and I'm hosting a Book Cover Competition that I would like to invite the students at your school
to participate in for a chance to win a $1000 prize!

I've chosen
to do this competition as a way to give aspiring artists a portfolio building
opportunity that will give these artists a chance to be handsomely rewarded for
the valuable contribution they will bring to my book and for artists to gain
exposure to their amazing talents. Being an award recipient at a competition
during my days in college, I appreciates the valuable experience that comes
from these kinds of competitions while students try to build a resume that they
can confidently enter the job market with. Though the prize money exceeds the
cost of hiring a book cover artist, I wanted to provide this exciting
opportunity for artists to create, just as I was able to experience during my
time in college, while I get a wide variety of talent and ideas.

The winning
contestant will receive the $1,000 prize and the finalists

Creative Alliance’s
Artist-in-Residency program located in Baltimore, MD is now accepting
applications for its studio Residency Program beginning in Summer 2019.
This program is open to artists working in all media who would like to
deepen their practice in a supportive, dynamic environment, and to
interact with colleagues in a lively cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary
residency environment. Our artists/residents also benefit from the rich
array of cultural, educational, and professional
opportunities available in the greater Baltimore/Washington area.
Notable artists who have completed residencies here include Amy Sherald,
who was commissioned to paint First Lady Michelle Obama’s official
portrait now hanging in the National Portrait Gallery,
and Paul Rucker a Guggenheim Fellow and TEDx alumni.

Please share this
information with your graduating MFA students, alumni, and other worthy
candidates. We encourage them to apply and believe this residency serves
as a wonderful opportunity for artists to expand their network of
colleagues
and supporters and to enhance future professional career opportunities.
