The translation, communication, and conveyance of ideas, concepts, and methods behind their tangible manifestations is a central requirement for a successful career in a global network of artists, galleries, educational institutions and supporting venues. Based on specific examples the essential connection between research, execution, and interpretation will be discussed. To develop an individual creative voice one has to embrace the necessary conditions that contribute to the establishment of a solid artistic identity. In this presentation elements and procedures that facilitate progress on an international scale will be introduced and reviewed.

Martina Tritthart works as an artist, curator, and researcher in Vienna, Austria. She completed her Ph.D. on "Light Spaces - Spatial Models of Perception" at the University of Technology in Graz and teaches media-related arts since 1999. As an assistant professor, she worked at the Institute for Spatial Design at the TU-Graz, and in the program “space & design-strategies” at the University of Art and Design in Linz, Austria.
